Cassia + Matthew’s Magical Day at Disney

I met Cassia and Matthew pre pandemic long before their plans for this magical day at Disney. We had already had a beautiful winery engagement session, and were busy planning their destination wedding and honeymoon to the Maldives when the world shut down. These two have not let Covid stop their plans, Cassia went to work and came up with a new plan that included 2 day elopement in Palm Springs last fall which was featured in The White Wren. These Disney lovers waited for the park to reopen and they invited their friends and family to celebrate and kick off this year’s wedding celebrations with a Disney Day.
Cassia and Matthew have an absolute LOVE for Disney. They are Disney Annual Passholders and spend many weekends at the parks catching up with friends! (Matthew also does an amazing Mickey Mouse impression – and shares a birthday with Walt Disney!)
Working as a Team
I have had so much fun adventuring with this couple, and was sad to not be able to be at Disney myself, but Katie from the Heather Anderson Photography team really captured the love and magic of the day.
I am looking forward to documenting their one year celebration in Asheville this fall and then meeting them on their Maldives Honeymoon to document that as well. This couple loves to travel, ski, surf, kickbox, bike, hike – and do just about anything else outdoors! It’s such a joy as a photographer to experience new places with those that have such a spirit for adventure.
Their Story
Matthew proposed to Cassia in Munich. She was traveling to a trade show for work and they decided to extend the trip a few days to do some personal traveling! One night Matthew had planned a dinner out and they strolled through the downtown plaza where the Berlin Radio Tour stands and lights up at night. While they strolled under the stars and city lights, he really shared how much he loved Cassia and while looking up at the tower, Matthew got down on one knee and popped the question!
