Kelly and Patrick’s Summer Mount Palomar Winery Wedding

Our Couple’s Story

I love a unique “how did you meet” story, and Kelly and Patrick’s may just be my favorite. Often it’s time for Mom to butt out of our love-lives, but this is the exception that breaks the rule. Kelly and Patrick were set up by none-other than Patrick’s Mom when she and Kelly were working out at the gym together. She told Kelly that she could run into Patrick at a specific bar one night, and Kelly was not shy about the follow through. Patrick was completely unaware that the woman he would soon marry knew the whole time he’d be there! Thanks Mom.

The Engagement

After Kelly’s bold move at the bar (a stunt by the way, that Patrick would stay completely unaware of for years), it was time for Patrick to make the next big move. So on Kelly’s 30th birthday at Disneyland, he proposed by stopping their tour, handing her a photo book, and popping the question. Her family was watching the entire time and would of course be there to celebrate for their stunning summer Mount Palomar Winery wedding.

A Traditional Ceremony

Inspired by a vintage winery, Kelly and Patrick chose burgundy and light purple for their wedding colors. Mount Palomar has such naturally beautiful architecture, and they matched it perfectly with their decor for a traditional catholic ceremony. I love capturing traditions of all kinds in my work as a wedding photographer, and this one definitely brought a tear to my eye.

Favorite Moments

After a one year delay in their wedding, Kelly and Patrick loved dancing the night away with friends and family. However, it was Patrick’s first look at Kelly on their wedding day the will forever live in his memory. Their advice for couples planning their dream wedding? “Make sure you like all your vendors and that they listen to every one of your concerns or ideas. Communication is important.”
