Lesley + Tyler’s Summer Garden Wedding in California

I was thrilled to spend another day with Lesley and Patrick at their beautiful California summer garden wedding. I alsofound a whole new love of gardens in general! We shot their engagement session in Yosemite National Park last year, and it was a total blast. Their original plans were for a mid march adventure shoot, but covid wasn’t letting that happen. It was just the first of many changed plans for their 2020 wedding.
A Private Moment
Tyler and Lesley were married in an intimate wedding on the beach last October, but had their large wedding a year later. There’s something special about having a commitment witnessed by a family, even if a couple has already made that promise to one another. I especially love it when a couple decides to do a “first look” in private, before all eyes are on them. It allow for some alone time, which is incredibly rare on your wedding day. It gives the couple a chance for intimacy, and gives them a special memory without all the pressure that can come from hosting such a large event.
A Day For Everyone
Lesley and Tyler were given so many restrictions because of covid, but they managed to embrace the day. They barreled through like champions, and it really showed a lot about the strength of their relationship. Despite the new rules and regulations, everyone had such a blast. Lesley’s mother was given the go-ahead by her doctor to attend, and we were all so relieved. She had just had knee surgery, and I know the day wouldn’t have been the same for Lesley without her there. Thank goodness she had a smooth recovery and could be there!
A Grand Exit
Lesley and Patrick went out with a bang with an exit lighted by sparklers, which made their smiles just shine so much brighter. After eating, drinking, and dancing the night away, they left in undeniable style. I’ve loved their tastes since our first shoot together, and was not surprised to see their big day come together with such finesse and refined choices.
