Vasquez Rocks Real Elopement

Emily and Victor’s real life elopement at Vasquez Rocks

The Right Choice for YOU

Emily and Victor wanted a real life elopement, and they couldn’t have chosen a more unique setting than Vasquez Rocks. What inspires an elopement? There’s often a lot of pressure to make your wedding some kind of “perfect day” for every single person you’ve ever met. But isn’t it about you two?

If the idea of a big bash makes your skin crawl, take Emily and Victor’s advice. “Don’t worry about anyone other than yourselves and what you want to do on your wedding day. You only get married once, so try to make it the best day ever per your standards.”

Vasquez Rocks

Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is a 932-acre park located in the Sierra Pelona Mountains in northern Los Angeles. It is known for its rock formations, the result of sedimentary layering and later seismic uplift. In 1874 Tiburcio Vasquez, one of California’s most notorious bandits, used these rocks to elude capture by law enforcement. His name has since been associated with this geologic feature.

The park is a popular hiking, picnicking, and equestrian area and has been used in many hit movies, television shows and commercials.

Our Couple

Victor and Emily met in 7th grade, where Victor used to sit in front of Emily and she would tug on his backpack to get his attention. I think her strategy worked, because to this day he’s never stopped paying attention; throughout our shoot, he simply couldn’t take his eyes off of her.

Victor proposed on March 20, 2021 in Warner springs, CA during an airbnb RV weekend to celebrate Emily’s birthday. On the patio after breakfast Victor began to express his emotions to Emily and then got down on one knee; Emily says her mind went into a bit of a blur after that!

Favorite Moments

Victor and Emily had previously discussed the idea of eloping, so once they were engaged they knew they wouldn’t want a wedding party. Thus the journey to Vasquez Rocks began. We asked our couple what their favorite moments of the day were. I love their answers:

“When we were standing at the altar towards the end of the ceremony right after saying our vows, there was this big warm rush of emotions that ran inside of me and I had a sense of relief and completeness.” – Emily

“When we got to meet up with a couple of our friends at a lounge at the end of the night and celebrate our marriage with the people we hold close.”- Victor

To Elope or Not to Elope?

Now that’s what I call a real elopement! It was such an honor to capture Victor and Emily’s special day. If you’re newly engaged and wondering if an elopement is right for you, let their special day serve as a reminder. Sometimes the most important moments of your life are actually meant to be shared with those truly closest to you.
