Planning a Micro Wedding
The first thing to understand when your planning a micro wedding is the difference between a traditional wedding, a micro wedding and an elopement.
What is a Micro Wedding
A microwedding, is typically a wedding with a guest list of 50 guest or less. Often immediate family and your closest friends. Though the guest count is small for a microwedding differs from a minimony. And, it isn’t an elopement. Think of a microwedding as a cross between an elopement and a big, traditional wedding!! If your on the fence about eloping because you want more of your family and friends to attend or the idea of a more traditional venue is appealing to you then a Micro Wedding might be just the right fit. It can be the perfect compromise to suit your style.
What to include in your micro wedding
Because you are saving money on a large venue and serving hundreds of guest dinner you can splurge on other areas. Maybe go big on your backdrop or florals! I am so in love with this boho inspired backdrop by Celebrations in Time all dressed up in pretty vibrant yellows by the talented A Flower Chick You can splurge on a custom gown like the one seen on this gorgeous bride designed by Lace and Liberty
Ceremony can be anything you want
YOu can even get your best friend to marry you, the sky’s the limit!! This is your day and you can make it unique to you. Katlin at Weddings by Katlin really pulled off the boho theme for this ceremony site.
Yes to the First Look
The choice is yours you can have a first look or go more traditional and see each other as you come down the aisle. I have an entire article HERE about the pros and cons of a first look. ANd it is so much fun
Intimate Settings and Space
Choosing a space for your micro wedding is important, you have the option of more traditional venues. However, you want to be careful that you choose a space that will still feel inviting with a smaller guest count. I love Winter White Barn for a Temecula Micro Wedding because it offers a great outdoor feeling, lost of different areas to create cool spaces, and tons of amazing places to take epic photos! You can really get creative with how to use the space. Creating a little lounge area to enjoy, adding your favorite little desserts and some other intimate spaces will make your day one you won’t soon forget.
Traditions
You can still include any traditions that speak to you such as a getting ready, first look, first dance, and cake cutting. You can really take your time to get ready and pamper yourself with HAMU by the best like Domenica Beauty The best part is with is being a smaller guest count you can also really personalize your day and really take time to savor moments. These yummy macaroons and sweet little cake by Batter Up Bakery were just perfect!!
Lot’s of time for photos
One of my personal favorite things about a micro wedding is you have a lot of time for photos!! I love shooting a lot of film at smaller weddings to really give you the most creative and artistic photos. Video and Photos become very important in a micor wedding so you can share your day with the family and friends that couldn’t be there your photos and video will tell your story for you. I loved the video that Venture Outbound Films created for these two.

Having a slower day means we get to play and have time to create really cool images for you!!
