Kim and Justin met in an AOL chat room! Yes, I said AOL!! For those of us who remember, this was back in the day when you got kicked off the internet if a call was coming through (good old dial up). Anyways, these two chatted online and by phone for a year before they finally decided to meet. Their first date was a movie and Starbucks.
For their 11-year anniversary (October 2015), Justin arranged a trip to Napa. It is one of their favorite places to visit, and they enjoy wine tasting together. He took Kim to Lambert Bridge, a beautiful Napa Valley winery.
Justin surprised Kim with a private tour of the winery. They enjoyed sampling wines, visiting the vineyards, eating grapes off the vines, and really seeing the entire operation of a working winery. At the end of the tour, there was a private picnic table overlooking the winery grounds, all set for them. Together they enjoyed a bottle of wine and cheese platter. Everything was perfect! Justin began saying sweet things to Kim, but she wasn’t catching on to what he happening. You can’t blame her; the gorgeous setting, wine, and cheese platter were a little distracting (this later became a joke between the two of them). He then took a knee beside Kim and began telling her (again) how much he loved her. He asked Kim to marry him and pulled a stunning ring out of his pocket!! Kim screamed, “Yes!” Waiting 11 years was worth the wait!
The two enjoy traveling, watching football (even though they cheer for different teams), cooking/grilling, and hanging out with friends together.
They wanted a winery engagement session, so I met up with them at Lake Oak Meadows, where we enjoyed a beautiful sunset and a few good laughs.
I am honored they have chosen me to document their day that they have waited so long for! I know their wedding at Circle Oak Ranch on June 30th, 2017 is going to be magical.
